Hello, I am Luis
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Relocating to Portugal wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much bigger.
The first months were tough — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Created RivonZelTanex
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Portugal.
Overview: What This Site Covers (and What It Doesn't)
This site is:
- Real-world insights from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A broad, generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Portugal goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Luis
